Dining is a culinary journey at Qambathi, a journey that reflects and celebrates local South African flavours. One that plays on all the senses with an uncompromising commitment to using only the freshest local ingredients and producing as much as possible on site, whether it be freshly made compotes with which to flavour your breakfast yoghurt; bread to tempt you whilst having a picnic by the stream; gorgeous side dishes to accompany your mains at dinner and a whole host of other delectable, freshly made goodies.
Our Food Philosophy
Meet our chef, Fungai. At Qambathi we want the food to provide a treat for your tastebuds, nourishment for your body and a feast for the eyes. As with everything we do we want to remain conscious of our environmental footprint. This is why we pride ourselves in sourcing local organically grown produce and support garden to table approach.We are also fully catered for any vegetarian and vegan guests.

Who said eating veggie had to be boring? Whether you’re going green for good, or experimenting with meat-free Monday, there’s never been a better time to explore the veggie food scene at Qambathi. We make wholesome, plant-based food that never compromises on flavour or satisfaction. Made in house, our vegan food is inspired by local ingredients to create hearty, wholesome meals that fuels and energises.
Our wine list has been carefully selected to showcase the best of South African wine. By also supporting the smaller vineyards, we ensure that you will be exposed to special selections not readily available in the main stream market. We proudly offer Oude Denneboom and Abingdon Wine Estate. Apart from a wonderful wine selection we also offer single malts, beers, variety of liquor as well as soft drinks. Our Partner in Thyme
We are super proud to be working with Lauren from the Veg Box Company. Based here in the heart of the midlands Lauren grows, produce and source fresh veggies, pickles, preserves, meats, dairy and so much more ! Most of the veg is lovingly grown on the farm where it is free from chemicals and growth stimulants. It is entirely seasonal so nothing is forcefully grown.
Local is Lekker

Bookings for Dinner and Lunch
We are very excited to offer our famous 5 course dinner not only to our in house guests but also to guests not staying at the lodge. Please also join us for a very tasty Afternoon High Tea and sharing boards for Lunch. Booking is essential as space is very limited.
